A note from Randy's mother
May 23, 2005
Dear Iron warriors Motorcycle Club,
On behalf of my family add I, we wish to express our deepest appreciation for a tribute to Randy's memory. The beautiful [sic]placque, Randy's vest and the escort
to his final resting place. He would have been so proud. May God richly bless your future endeavors as you "RIDE ON".
Most Sincerely,
Petra G. Pena
Fifteen members of the Sacramento Chapter, and members from East Bay and Reno Chapters, attended Randy's funeral. Most rode escort to the hearse from the
church in Sacramento, to his final resting place in Gustine. The show of support and respect for Randy was phenominal, and was an honor. It shows the true
spirit of the brothers and sisters of the club, and was a great display of its purpose.
Hagop "Jake" Kuredjian 1961 - 2001
Vice President - CA. Los Angeles Chapter
On September 1st (2001), the family of Deputy Jake Kuredjian, the Los Angeles Sheriff's Office, and the Iron Warriors MC lost a partner, friend, and brother.
Jake was the Vice President of our LA Chapter.
Below is the brief account of the funeral which was attended by East Bay Chapter's president, Mike Houston.
First, I'd like to thank George and Kathy Hawes (LA County Chapter Prez) and the entire LA County Chapter for their warm hospitality during my short stay
in So Cal to attend Jake's funeral. George and Kathy generously opened their home to me and Kathy was my "chauffer" until I got on the great bike loaned
to me by Bob, one of their members and a retired LASO Lt. who had worked with Jake.
The outpouring of sympathy for Jake's memory was overwhelming. I estimate 300 to 400 police units and 200 to 300 motors participated in the procession.
There were probably a 1000 officers from all over standing in the street outside the church since there wasn't nearly enough room for everyone inside.
Naturally, the entire LA County chapter was there as were four members from the Central Coast chapter; we were given seats in the church. There was a
great showing by the Choir Boys, from as far away as Las Vegas, and the Lords of Loyalty were there in force too.
Governor Gray Davis was in attendance, as was the LAPD Chief. The LASO Sheriff gave a brief presentation, but had a difficult time keeping it together.
He was obviously very shook up by Jake's.
The temperature and humidity grew pretty stifling and you can imagine how slow six or seven miles of cars and bikes moved from the church to the burial
place, Forest Lawn. Numerous TV and radio crews were everywhere and all the streets and highways along the route were blocked. I was given the distinct
privilege of riding up front in the long line of public safety motorcycle club members who were there to pay their respect. I was humbled by that gesture
and thank the LA County Chapter for allowing me that honor.
Again, I wish more of you would have been there. It was a pretty fantastic display of support and sympathy for one of our own members and an outstanding
example of everything that was right and good about Jake Kuredjian. May he rest in peace and never leave our memories.
Mike Houston
